Title in English: Analysis of Mathematical Kangaroo competition problems and of their solutions by primary school pupils. Summary of research results
The monograph focuses on the competition known as Mathematical Kangaroo in the Czech Republic. The first part of the monograph discusses the theoretical background of the research in the context of mathematical problems and their solutions with the focus on Mathematical Kangaroo (assessment, evaluation, use of the answer sheet, etc.) with respect to current trends in pedagogy and didactics of mathematics. In the second part readers can find the quantitative analysis of solutions of problems included in the 2015 version of Ècolier. Using means of statistics, pupils’ performance as reflected in the success rate in both the test and individual problems is set into the context of personal characteristics of the pupils (age, grade of school, performance in mathematics).
