The study deals with the transformative process of quitting long-term abuse of addictive drugs without any institutional support such as treatment or counselling. Many studies have confirmed that natural recovery is a major pathway from regular drug abuse. The book is one of the first in the Czech language to describe natural recovery; furthermore, it focuses on the specific Czech drug, methamphetamine. The author has carried out nineteen narrative interviews with former methamphetamine users, analysed seven of them in detail and presents their compelling stories to the readers.
