Title in English: What was right/wrong. Notes on the history of ethics in the Western tradition (not only) for teachers
The book presents the changes in moral and ethical thinking in Western culture from antiquity to the present. The author presents the views of the philosophers, but also tries to bring the social contexts of the different periods into focus (such as the status of women, views on corporeality and sexuality, religious contexts, etc.). In addition to male philosophers, the text examines also female authors or questions concerning the morals related to the status of women. The book is not a complete survey of the ethical theories that have emerged in Western culture; the selection of ethical theories has been made on the basis of their usefulness to teachers of civics and social sciences.
