Geografické myšlení: úvod do teoretických přístupů
Free E-bookThe text provides a brief introduction to philosophical approaches in modern geography. Framed by Kuhn’s idea of paradigm shift, the book maps development of “doing” geography from establishment of geography as an academic discipline in the late 19th century to the early 21th century. Attention is paid (1) to the quantitative revolution and the critique of geography as a spatial science, (2) to post-positivist approaches of the first wave (radical, behavioural, humanistic, feminist geography) and the second wave (realism, theory of structuration), and (3) to contemporary postmodern and poststructuralist approaches. The text is complemented by portraits of influential geographers and brief explanation of key concepts of the discipline.
