The book is devoted to the topic of interculturality in the context of foreign language teaching and learning. First part aims at discussing specific terminological questions and defining interdisciplinary foundations necessary for conceptualization and didactic grasp of intercultural communicative competence. Second part of the book presents two research studies into educational reality. Firstly, quality of intercultural aims within language teaching is studied in the curricular documents. Attention is paid to the current curricular reform, i.e. content analysis focused on how are intercultural aims in the area of English language teaching elaborated in the school educational programs. Core of the second part of the book is a case study focused on development and assessment of intercultural communicative competence in student teachers of English language.
