Hovory s Rogerem Scrutonem
Title in English: Conversations with Roger Scruton
Sir Roger Scruton (1944–2020), a British conservative philosopher, aesthetician, political thinker, writer, and musician, is well known in the Czech context – not only through his many books. He was a great friend of our country: during the communist period he organised clandestine educational seminars in private apartments, and after 1989 he helped the transition from totalitarianism to democracy, particularly in the field of higher education. This book of interviews conducted by the writer Mark Dooley offers a detailed and intimate account of Scruton’s personal and professional life, presenting this remarkable man in a new light.
