The book is based on the study of archives and follows the author's research stay in Italy. It is the first book in the Czech context book to deal with libretto research, with the development of the 17th and 18th centuries opera. It pays attention to outstanding personalities such as Monteverdi, Mysliveček, Leopold Koželuh and others as well.
