The book discusses the role of special education teachers in the contemporary school environment in the Czech Republic from their own perspective. The book presents selected findings of qualitative research. There were approached special education teachers with diverse specializations as research participants – professionals in the field of speech therapy, visual impairment, physical or intellectual disability, emotional disturbances, hearing impairment, learning disabilities. These were special education teachers, who are currently working in the field, i.e. in schools and school facilities. For students of special needs education, the text offers an insight into the profession and the professional experience of special education teacher. For educators (including special needs teachers), the text represents an opportunity to reflect on their professional position, activities, and experience.
