The contributions of the participants of the music education conference “Musica viva in schola” reflect current trends in music education with regard to the revision of curricular documents as well as other areas of current music-educational practice. These include the influence of music education on students’ mental health, the role of music education in the development of critical thinking, and innovations and possibilities of music multimedia and modern technologies. In the authors’ view, these areas are linked both to the general practice of music education and to selected areas of music education across educational levels and institutions. The contributions are based on research activities of academic staff and doctoral students, reviews, and results of technological development.
