Traveling exhibitions represent a specific phenomenon in the field of exhibitions. They are the domain of museums as well as other cultural, memory and educational institutions, and are also created and produced by the commercial sector. Both abroad and in the Czech Republic, the organization of traveling exhibitions has a long tradition, and the interest in them from the host institutions and the visiting public has not waned. The publication examines this phenomenon of museum presentation from three points of view – it anchors the development of the concept of traveling exhibitions to the present, defines the specifics of the creation of this exhibition format from the point of view of the museological discipline of museum exhibitions and from the point of view of targeting the audience through knowledge from museum pedagogy.
