Podle přírody!
The book is the first to deal with interrelations between 19th century photography and the arts in the Central-European context. Working on the fact that the relationship was immediate and mutual, the study brings a number of new findings, reflecting both the photographers’ tendency to accommodate themselves to artistic standards of the period, and the artists’ common usage of photographs as a help or means in their work process. The book looks at local production (eg. artists affiliated with the Academy in Prague, or working rather on the margins), as well as at local artistic collections established in the 19th century, whether institutional or private, which often incorporated high quality photographic production of the period.
