The publication focuses on current issues in environmental impact assessment of plans and projects (EIA and SEA). Procedures of impact assessment rank among the key preventive tools and help to reduce costs from possible future damage to the environment. Their outputs are crucial and decisive for the development of the territory and construction of individual projects. Simultaneously, it provides legal base for public participation in environmental matters. Various aspects regarding the EIA and SEA procedures have been discussed lately in academic fielad and have became subjects of judicial decisions. This is due to recent amendment of Directive 2011/92/EU and changes in national legal systems, including Czech and Slovak acts.
