Title in English: Stories of glory and oblivion. Znojmo artists, their works of art and the fate of the late Baroque period
The book tries to look at the life and work of artists and craftsmen in Znojmo and its surroundings between the years 1715–1815, in the broader Central European context. The complicated history of the whole border area caused not only a partial lack of interest in the issue of artistic creation in the region, but caused primarily viewing the issue through the lens of the present divided state border. That, as an element separating the two countries have played a historical role, but it was secondary for the average inhabitant. The work is created based on a survey of written and visual sources, which approached lives and works less well-known artists in the region.
