This studying material provides basic overview of thematic cartography. Work is divided into four chapters. The first part deals with characteristic and classification of thematic maps. The second chapter offers study of content of thematic maps. Penultimate part deals with character systems in thematic cartography, accurately cartographic language and methods of portraying content of thematic maps. The last chapter talks about symbol scale in thematic maps.
