The textbook deals with one of the most difficult areas of teacher education in mathematics – the set theory. It is divided into five chapters, which deal with the formal construction of mathematics, basic set terms, cardinal and ordinal numbers, historical development of set theory and biographies. The appendix summarizes the elementary set theory.
