Významné osobnosti v životě Masarykovy univerzity
The publication presents the lives of select prominent academics of Masaryk University. This supplement to the MUNI100 exhibition depicts the fortunes and misfortunes of scholars who helped create the school’s history, whether by establishing it, developing it, working with students, or achieving global scientific success – the “founding fathers”, great scientists, popular teachers, dramatic figures, and controversial academics. The diverse lives also map the equally diverse twentieth century from the world wars and the Communist rule to the present day. The personalities were chosen to represent the three core roles of the university: tuition, science, and extension – that is, the institution’s interaction and influence on society. The careful selection provides a summary of the centennial existence of Masaryk University.
