Zápisky z cest II
In April 2014 a group of twenty-two students and teachers from four institutions – from the universities in Brno, Vienna and Lausanne and the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence met in Palenno, Sicily. The aim of this meeting was to study medieval Sicilian monuments, especially of the12th century. Participants of this excursion decided, as it was the case in previous excursion to the Balkan, to share their knowledge and experiences with the general public as well. And, as in the case of the first Notes from travels I, the issue i s not an opus cul um, which has not any innovative ambitions. It should present to the Czech public one of the most interesting and beautiful cultures of Mediterranean. The authors of the vast majority of texts are students who participated in the excursion. They aimed to elaborate the texts which would attract attention of the expert and general public, and at the same time, thanks to the most complete bibliography would give to those who are interested the chance to meet the best scientific production relating to Sicily.
