Title in English: Lost in Transition? Past and Presence of Political parties in Central and Eastern Europe

The monograph deals with tradition of parties and party systems in Central and Eastern Europe in the period before emergence of Communist regimes and during the Communist rule. Further, the book deals with fragmentation and polarization of party systems, relations between the parties and society, and functioning of political parties in coalition governments. The authors are using cases from the EU member countries of so-called Eastern Enlargement to compare selected variables and to reflect comparison between the patterns in Western and Central-Eastern Europe.
