Title in English: Landscape Forming Professions and Human Activities in UNESCO Protected Areas. The Role of Human Activities in the Contemporary Cultural Landscape
In the presented book, an introduction is focused on the development of the cultural landscape both in the historical context of the gradual changes of human society in the Holocene and as a succession of the processes of innovation, adaptation and structuring and their impacts. Human activities and their actors leading to landscape changes are divided into two categories: (1) traditional professions and (2) modern professions. The farmers, shepherds, hunters, beekeepers, fishermen, water managers, foresters, miners, road builders and constructors are among the traditional ones. The modern landscaping professions are represented by politicians, planners, nature conservationists, architecture conservationists, geoinformatics, visionaries and tourist industry participants. Attention is also paid to the protected landscape management, UNESCO landscape programs and their applications on the territory of the Lower Morava Biosphere Reserve, the Vlkolínec Folk Architecture Monument Reserve, to the prepared crossborder Mikulčice-Kopčany Archaeopark as well as the latest international activities in the protection of sustainable landscape development.
